QuickLoad says that 69 grains of IMR 4831 should give you 2101 FPS. 62 grains of Norma 203B/RL-15 will give you 2090. Felt recoil will be less than the IMR 4831 load. You will need to us polifill or foam filler with the Norma 203B/RL-15. Velocities with the Norma/RL will be very uniform. Use a Federal 215 match primer. I don't think you should need to crimp the bullets with the Ruger. Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate. Here's what I came up with. Used data from Real Guns for woodleigh 400 gr/ Rl 19 24 inch barrel, Rem 9 1/2 mag primer, swift a frame 350 gr bullet, col 3.677 (.010 from lands) At 85 grains I get average vel of 2336 fps. with the woodleigh 400s col 3.710 (.010 from lands) I went to 86 gr avg fps 2275, settled on 83 fps 2220/best group. No cromp. No signs of any excess pressure. Most accurate load GSC 325 gr bullet col 3.875 (.005 from lands ) 73 gr Norma 202/ 2370 fps. This data from their site. | |||
