Just wanted to pass on the results of some reduced load development I have completed for the 338 RUM with Nosler's 180 gr BT. If you work up to 80 grs R15 and look for 3420 fps you will be near max, and should have very good accuracy to boot. You need 15 grs more 4350 and 21 grs more R22 to break into the 3500s, and the recoil reduction is definitely worth it. Sight zero at 200, and you will be -5.3 at 300 and +1.0 at 100.

Sabot are these clocked speeds you are a talking about or theories?

Just wondering because I would of never thought of trying R15 in there.

I do shoot the 340 a lot and have used R22 for the most part with the lightweights.

These velocities are chronographed at 17 feet from a 26 inch bbl. Note that the load density is only about 80% and you need to scale down for your 340's capacity.
