Alliant - Reloader 10

Just thought I'd share the great news, (at least to me it's great).
Cut n paste from their website:
Reloder 10xs burn speed falls in between Alliants Reloder 7 and Reloder 15. It is slightly faster than their previously offered Reloder 12. It is the powder of choice for 40 to 50 grain bullets for the 223 and 22-250 cartridges as well as standard applications in popular best rest calibers.

I think this might be the magic powder I've been looking for to load .223 and 45-70.

I'm thinking I might just HAVE to try that under 55-60 gr. bullets in my 6PPC. Dutch.

In the "old" line of Hercules powders (but not as old as Hi-Vel 2), there was a RelOdeR 11 and RelOdeR 21 (yes, that the way they spelled it). These powders were U.S. produced and were not the same as the current Bofors-produced Alliant line.

At first blush, a person might be tempted to interpolate old data from RelOdeR 11 in using the new Reloader 10X. I wouldn't advise this, since it's hard to say how the two powders actually compare. RelOdeR 21 was actually some bit faster than current Reloader 19 and nowhere near as slow as Reloader 22. My understanding is that both the "old" and "new" lines were double-base, I doubt that their chemical properties are that similar.

Might be The powder for my 14" .30 Herrett.
AA2015 and IMR4198 get the same velocity at 30.0 and 27.0 but then I run out of case capicity.

I got a second email that said they are currently testing a reloader 10x. He said it would be good for heavy bullets at high speed in .45-70
