I just picked up some Barnes 168 grain LRX Bullets. I also have 150 Nosler E Tips. I have Ramshot Magnum and IMR 4350. Won't start loading for another month so looking for a 3rd powder. I was think Enduron 4451? Any ideas?

Whoops, for a 7mm Remington Magnum.

Work through what you have. You may not need to try another powder.

Lots of powders perform superbly in the 7MM Rem Mag.

H-4831 will give me over 3100 FPS with 160 grain Partitions.

IMR-4350 is excellent for 150 grain bullets.

RL-22 might just be the best powder for 150 grain & heavier bullets.

H-4831 might be equally as good.

RL-19, but that's almost a duplicate for IMR 4350.

My favorite powders for the 7mm Rem. are RL-22 and H-1000. I have used them with several 160-175 bullets. My rifle does not like the lighter bullets.

Is there an advantage to using 7828 SSC as opposed to the regular 7828? My local store has short cut available only. Thanks again everyone.

I forgot about IMR-7828. That's excellent 7MM Rem Mag Power.

Properly hand loaded, the 7MM Rem Mag is a spectacular cartridge. It will perform as Warren Page intended, and it'll do so out of 24" barreled rifles.

I have too many powders and not enough experiment time. When I find a load that produces best accuracy -not necessarily highest velocity- I;ll stick with it.

A poster mentioned his 7MM Rem Mag having preference for specific bullet weights. I have the same experience. Mine seems to be most accurate with max loaded 150 grain bullets. It will shoot 160 grain Partitions under an inch.

There has to be scientific cause for a rifle to demonstrate better performance with a specific bullet weight. But I don't have inclination to figure it out. I go with what works best.

BTW, a max load of RL-22 pushing 175 grain Partitions chronos right at 3000 FPS out of my 24" barreled 7MM Rem Mag. After thinking about it, I've decided to stick with 160 grain Partitions for heavy game. I've had excellent luck with them.

Another BTW, I've been enlightened to 160 grain GameKings performing exceptionally well on large, heavy game (Rocky Mountain bull elk). From my experience, GameKings are extremely accurate.

I just started with re 26_and 180 grain bullets getting 3050fps with great accuracy.

I was only getting 2950_with 168 grain bullets before hitting pressure.....oh, I was using re 19.

I'm really liking re26.

Bighorn I have not used a lot of 7828SSC but gr for gr it is the same as regular 7828. You can get more of the SSC into a case so if you are using 7828 in a case and have a compressed load the SSC may be better suited for that case. I don't think the 7mm Mag has that problem

H4831 RL-19 RL-22

For one caliber why do you need 3 kinds of powder, that might require resighting your gun with every change in powder..

Id pick one load of 7828 SC and a 175 gr, Nosler partition and use it on anything that walks, talks, swims or flys..

For a one gun person, keep it simple and never change a thing once its sighted in..

I think RL-19 is more in the 4831 range,.. and RL-17 is more in the 4350 range..

RL-19 is very close to IMR 4350 according to my loading books..Rl-17 is close to IMR 4320..RL-22 is 4831 or close...

All of which are good powders, but IMR7828 is without a doubt and according to my chronographs the highest velocity powder, and that's what I would recommend IF IT SHOT WELL IN MY RIFLE, that's the kicker in any powder.
