I've seen some posts here lately about problems shipping 'gun parts' to/from Canada. How about if I wanted to ship some loading components (bullets) to a guy there. Any problems? R-WEST ------------------

Lee in Idaho sent me some components a while back, it took a while but they got here OK. If it isn't loaded ammo, I would suggest just using the postal service. I have a friend in Chicago send me a lot of things and US post airmail works the best. (It's only a few bucks cheaper than regular mail and weeks faster) There is a price limit on what you can send, I'm not sure what it is. Brownells put a signed letter in their packaging to Canada stating that all the items are worth less than $1600 Cdn, about $1000 US. If it's just personal, loaded ammo and gun frames are out. Over 10 shot clips are illegal here so that's another verboten item. Everything that I've ever had shipped that said anything about firearms, or guns, or hunting on it was opened and inspected. One gent in Wisconsin sent me some stuff labeled "hobby supplies"(what, it's true!). Hope this helps. - Dan

If you are on the open box list (meaning no matter what the package or description) it will get opened. Seem's they red flag regular purchasers of hunting/reloading supplies and tend to open any package sent to that address. A friend of mine who has a rather extensive collection to keep functioning/shooting, buys 90 percent of his materials from the US and except for the aforementioned has had absolutely no problem at any time. Other than that I can't think of any problems, if I talk to him anytime soon I could ask.
