Assumming a 26 in barrel, and a firearm of good quality, what would the max velocit for a 100 gr. bullet be? I load mine to 3000fps, but it just seems that one should get better. Any thoughts?

You should be able to get 3350 and still be within the SAAMI limits of the cartridge. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Looking at loadtech it show numerous loads with a 100 gr in a 26" in the 3350-3450 range. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Stuff a stout charge of R22 under those 100s and "Let er' rip tater chip." I usually get 3200+ fairly easy. Good Luck! Reloader

58 grains of RL22 gives me 3460 fps.

I have a Savage 110 FLP in .25-06 Remington and even with a 24" barrel I am able to get 3250 fps with IMR 4350 (most accurate) and about 3340 fps with RL22.
