The Federal brass I've used seemed about the same as Winchester, and had more capacity than Rem. brass....

What caliber are you talking about? As noted in another thread here, Federal 223 brass tends to be soft, with primer pockets loosening quickly. Other calibers seem fine. I don't know why the difference...

I have nothing but a positive experience with Federal brass. I layed in a suppy of Federal .300 Wby. brass before they ceased to sell it as a component and have been impressed with it. The weight is consistent among random samples and by consistent I mean with 5 grains of the average weight. Not to bad for a belted mag case. Some have been reloaded as many 10 times and the necks are not at all brittle like my Rem cases of the same caliber got after 7-8 reloads. Primer pockets are still tight too. I have had similar results with the Federal .338 Win. brass, although this brass was from factory loads. For the calibers offered(which is not enough) I think that Federal brass is a great value. The quality is close to that of Norma with the Frederal product maybe a little tougher.
