Case head is stamped "LC" and the year 89, 97, 98 etc

Anyone know what brass this is? Im sure its mil brass , just curios from what/where?

Is it good brass to reload?

LC= Lake City, possibly the best military stuff out there. The real beauty of it is, in your case, since black hills reloaded it once, the primer pocket crimp has been removed. Less case prep that you would otherwise have to do.

I use tons of it!

I remember back a while ago when it was cheap.. like 50 rounds for $10.00... it was cheaper to buy it and shoot it and then reload it.. that was my main source for Brass...

then I started buying Lake City brass at $35.00 per thousand from Cabelas... it is from Scharch Industries in Colorado..

Cabelas quit carrying it, and Scharch wants like $90.00 per thousand...

So I have found another source that I can buy surplus Police Range brass that is usually Winchester, or Remington or Federal at $40.00 per thousand... but I now have to clean it and deprime it...but i still think it is worth it...

but surplus black hills brass is just fine!

So I tried some Blue Box recently & tried to figure out how these reloads on a military case performed so great compared to my match prepped brass....a mic measurement at case mouth rim indicated to me that there is a slight factory crimp at this point, however no crimp for my rounds....., maybe that's why....r in s.

Ray, Black Hills also switched to using Ramshot Tac powder (or so I've been told). I've been using Tac now for 3 years and reload all of our rifle team ammo with it. It has preformed great.
