Does anyone have a favorite load with this bullet in the Bee? I am looking to give them a try and can't seem to find much for loading data. Was thinking of using 7828ssc. But also have RL22, RL25, H1000, H4831

I've been real happy with the groups using the 168 gr. TSX (not TTSX, although it shouldn't make much difference) in two different rifles chambered for the .300 Wby.

By far the best groups were with RL22, but I got decent groups with IMR 4831. Sorry, I don't recall how much of either I used and I'm away from my loading data.

The IMR 7828 (not 7828ssc) didn't group well, but I think I have an old batch of powder because none of my rifles like it.

Hope that helps.

Ian,

Yup, 84 grs. of H-4831SC & 165/168 gr. bullets is a good combo in my 300 Witherbee; I opted for the 165 gr. Swift Scirocco II's though, they shoot better than the Barnes in my Boomer.

As usual, all the normal caveats apply, work up from well below this amount.

Cheers,

My 300 Weatherby load is 81 gr. of H4831SC over Federal 215M primers with 168 gr. bullets.

I just got my Euromark back from having the trigger cleaned up to 2.5Lbs and the action bedded and barrel channel cleaned out to float the barrel.
I have loaded some test loads for this weekend with 168gr TTSX's and H4831 and RL22.

IanD-- I tried several loads with H4831 and RL22 with the 168gr TTSX. The gun showed a preference for the RL22 over the H4831. The loads with H4831 were all triangles (which I could probably shrink with seating depth) but in the 1.25-1.5" range. I started at 83.5gr and went .5 increments to 85gr and velocity topped out at 3222. With the RL22, it shot a .75" group with 84gr and .625" at 85gr. The velocity at 85gr averaged 3293fps. I had three rounds loaded with 82gr of RL22 with 180gr TSX's at 3173fps. Those shot just under 1" at 100yds.
