Have heard consistently good things about the Redding BR3. Have you guys had good success with the RCBS Uniflow? For that matter what other brands/models are you using?

God, Guns and Gibsons...doesn't get much better than that!

I have the Lyman 55 and the RCBS Uniflow, the Lyman is for me more consistant and easier to set. The Lee Perfect Powder Measurer is very cheap and throws accurate but mine didn't last long.

If you want the best try Harrell...pricey but a precision piece of equipment...however for the money you can't beat the Redding BR3....just keep it clean and static free.

Most measures are good with ball, flake, and fine granular powders. Don't expect accurate charges with powders like IMR 4350 or other course-grained tubular (stick) powders. Even with the best measures (and the Redding is among them), when using course stick powders I always drop the initial charge into the scale pan, the weigh-out the final charge.

I especially like the dual-micrometer on the Redding for large rifle or small rifle/handgun-sized charges.

I have a RCBS Uniflow. I use it for ball and flake powders. I currently use LEE's Perfect Powder Measure for all extruded powders. I just love it.

The BR3 is a good measure and easy to set up. That said, H322 throws well from the RCBS or any measure I have tried.

DB BILL, I know this is probably a dumb question but what do you do to keep a measure static free?

Dan U,
Use a dryer sheet or get an anti-static sheet from a computer store.

I have a Harrell's Custom 90 and a RCBS Uniflow, but the Harrell's gets used more often. Very precise and the repeatable settings are a plus.

Gentlemen,

I have the Harrel and I have the Redding.

Yesterday I tried setting up the Harrel to drop 26 grains of Reloader 15 for our test on damaged crowns.

I there were always variations - 0.1-0.3 of a grain.

I then tried the Redding. I dropped 10 charges, and all were spot on 26.0!
