I have some 69 grain match king bullets I'd like to try in the .223 contender. I usually use H322 powder with a 55 grain btsp. Does anyone load 69 grain bullets with H322? any other good powders with this bullet? Thanks
Buzzard

dwbuzzard,
You didn't say what length barrel you have. I think I would stay with the faster powders in the shorter barrels. If you are talking carbine, then H-335, BL-C, or H-4895 would give a bit better velocities.Heck, you could go as slow as 4350, or 4831!,,,,,,,,,,,,,Bug.

Have you ever shot 69 grain bullets in your barrel before? Is your barrel a factory or custom with a higher rate of twist? The twist rate for factory Contenders may be too slow to stabilize a bullet that long. I think that the 69 grainers are for a 1 in 10 or 12" twist and I believe Contenders are 1 in 14". Someone correct me if I am wrong.
