Anyone with load data for a .270 using 130 grain SST bullets and IMR 4831 your input would be appreciated. 3.180 C.O.L. is specked out in the manual, doest this seem short? to crimp on the cannelure the C.O.L. would be 3.230 approx.

56 grains is max...work up....
COL don't mean squat.....load the bullet to the cannelure or to fit the magazine or what length fit's your liking. I'm not sure why that number is even listed.

Fit the round to your magazine..then see if it will seat in your chamber, if not the set it back until it does without going into a bunch of tech of bullet seating off the lands.

I just seat to the cannelure and crimp. Most of my shots are under 100 yards so I load my rounds light. I use 48 grains of H4350. It has considerable less kick than the 55 grain max load and shoots sub 1.5 MOA which is more than I need for whitetails.

I worked up from 56 grains IMR4831 all the way to 59.9 grains,IN MY GUN . Got 3312 fps and 1/2" group. Had better accuracy and less perceived stress on cases, less recoil, and more accuracy with 57 grains IMR4350 at 3057 fps. Barnes TSX 130's.
