BruzNBT's: How far off the lands?
I have been loading mainly Barnes TSX's since I started loading 2 years ago. Well I was talked into trying the NBT's in my new 264 Win Mag so I bought some 120's. After making up a dummy and doing the candle test repeatedly I come up with 3.373" to the lands. Now with Barnes I would back up to 3.323" and start from there. What should I do with the NBT's? .010"?.020"?
Let me know what works for you.

That sounds like a very sensible starting point. It is likely that the NBTs should be loaded closer to the lands than the TSX. In the end, any OACL is only a starting point, one of the factors you can experiment with to find the best load in *your* gun.
Btw, I personally think the TSX is by far the better choice for your .264.

DocUnfortunately, it really just depends on the load combo and the rifle, so you really need to start from scratch.
I usually begin with NBTs, 10 thou off the lands, and it seems that there is NO pattern for optimum performance in any given rifle.
I've got some rifles that like them close, others at least 50+ thou off the lands.
In fact, in one rifle, a 270, the 130s like to be very close to the lands, while the 140s and 150s like to be much further.

Yep, good advice. That's been my experience also.
