If this is a hunting load
You need to stay at or below 1400 FPS( I think that the max )
I didn't bother to read the warnings about the 250 being made soft for 45 colt loads
So I loaded some at 1600 + FPS
Shot a doe at 20 yards , perfict broad side lung shot
1 nice entrance wound several small exit wounds
Looked like a gernade went off in her lungs
Probely only 2-3" of penatration before exploding

I recovered fragments in the rear quarter

If you want speed
Go with the 240 Gr XTP/Mag

I've had the same results with the xtp at 1450fps, I now reload it to a max velocity of 1250fps for deer hunting. At about 15 yards the xtp at 1450fps blew a hole the size of a softball upon entry with the effects of a shotshell inside.

I've shot these at 2100-2300 fps from a smokeless Savage ML10.

They will flat out slam a whitetail. Exits on broadside shots.
