I got a can of VVN550 powder that is at least 15 years old. The can has the original seal on the cap, so is unopened. Will this powder still be ok to use?

and it won't appear to be wet! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Winston Churchill

A few years ago I bought a Turkish Mauser 8x57 mm, along with several hundred rounds of ammunition. The ammo was headstamped 1943. It all fired just fine except for 3 rounds. Upon disassembly, the problem was found to be the primers, a not uncommon one for the era. If you are truly worried about your storage environment, the cure for powder anxiety is to shoot more and use it up in a couple of years. This will also allow you to buy it cheaper--in bulk......... Powder has a shelf life. Take a look at this thread, addresses the same concerns. http://forums.accuratereloadin...791083161#9791083161
