I have now got two 30 06 rifles in hand for our conversion/re-barrel project to be done next winter. In the meantime, we will be hunting the rifles as 30 06. What would be the recommendation for locating bulk (military?) surplus ammo? Is this the most economical way to have lots of ammo to shoot over the summer?

The Greek ball ammo I've seen is of good quality. The drawbacks are that ammo and shipping expenses have skyrocketed in the past year.

The CPM may still have some Greek 30-06 ammo for sale.
