I posted this in the Small Bore forum but thought I would also post it here. I've been loading the 6.5X55 for about four years now. I have worked up good loads using 140 grain pills. However, I've not done much load development with 120 grainers. I'm interested in what your pet loads are for the 6.5X55. Include powder of choice, bullet, and COL. I'm trying to expand my knowledge base and find a good starting point for developing some loads for 120, 129, 130, and 140 pills. My loads have been developed with RL-22 and I know there are other powders that will perform as well. What about H4350? Anyone using it in their favorite load?

Arkie, Hey buddy! Decided this year that I would use the CZ550 as rifle of choice to hunt with. Using the 6.5x55 Swede update in Ken Waters "Pet Loads" the most accurate load listed for the 120gr Nosler BT was 48.0grs of RL-22. This load was listed as 2.0grs under max. To make this long story short..........first 3-shot group went 0.548 c-c, so thats my load for hunting whitetails this year. Hope this helps....... Ol' John Rest of story....Lapua unfired cases, WLR primers and COL was 2.300

I'm using 37gns of ADI 2206 (IMR 3031) behind 120grain Rem SPs for RMS out to Turkeys with good results.

The only 120 grainer I've shot is the Barnes XLC. Those shoot really well over 50 grains of RL19, seated about .015" off the lands. Rifle is (was, it's busted now) a Sako L691, R-P brass, Win Large Rifle primers.
