when i started reloading i always left the press handle up. it took too long too realize that with the press handle down, you only need to raise the handle enough for the case to clear the die saving a lot of effort and time. i also found that a 2x6 with 3 presses bolted to it and C-clamped to the bench works best for me.

Rockchucker for 9MM? Depends if you like to load or shoot. If you like to spend time at the bench loading, go ahead and use the rockchucker. If you like to shoot, get a progressive. If you would consider an in between, get a turret. If you are new to reloading, start with the rockchucker or a turret press. There is no better way to learn than using a single stage press or turret. I have a Dillon 550, Redding T-7 and just sold my rockchucker to my brother when I got the T-7. If I were to start over again, I would buy a Dillon Square Deal for pistols and a T-7 for rifles. Aaron

I use a Dillon 550 for all revolver reloading and a Rock Chucker for all rifle reloading. The Rock Chucker is a great press but to slow for any quantity of reloading IMHO.
