R17 58 gn MV 2894 PRESSURE 65300 psi
R17 59 gn MV 2944 PRESSURE 67900 psi

What bullet & wgt?
I tried R17 in the `06 with 180gr Hornady SP, and WLR primers in Weatherby brass in my 24" MRI Mt Eagle. Velocity was 2707 fps for 5rd at a charge of 53grs. I don`t have a strain gage attached to this rifle so I`ve no real idea of pressure but useing HCs PRE method ( shocker a one time event I promise) I believe the load is right at max pressure in this rifle. -measured brass was 0.0005"/0.0007" over measured factory ammo in the same cases.-
I wasn`t impressed with the accuracy I received, and don`t really feel in the cartridge/bullet wgt it offers anything H4350 doesn`t.

180 nosler partition
I dont bother with case head expansion any more....brass hardness varies from batch to batch and brand to brand
With a 24 inch tube you are no where near max, even thou the hornady proj run at higher pressures than the nosler partitions

Don't know if it's true but I had "heard" that early lots of re17 were milder than the later lots. Not sure how to tell when the change was made if indeed there was one.
I played a bit with some of alliants max loads of diff cartridges on my quick load program and decided that what they listed for max in the '06 might be a bit mild.
I worked up to 56.5 under a 180 ballistic tip with my 22" tikka. I got 2820 out of that load with no apparent pressure signs. I'm thinking that load was probably pretty max and considering the barrel diff's with your data the velocities aren't too far off even though I used less powder.
I was also able to make a 150 tsx fly at 3100fps with no apparent pressure at about 2 grains over alliant's "max" data.

I loaded up several different loads for a 25-06 using that powder with poor accuracy results.
I won't be using it any more for the '06.
I do have some loads for a 22-250 with R-17 and 60 grain bullets but haven't shot them yet.

M98, R17 is acting a bit like MRP. Is it not faster than R19? Otherwise IMPRESSIVE performance for the 180 gr. O6. What are your primer pockets like? Regards, AIU

If the drop the charge to 57 grains you will be getting a vel of about 2850 and a pressure of about 62500....which is the exact result i got with R22 if you have a look on the spread sheets with 6 grains less powder
im going to run some 200 gn noslers with 56 gns of R17 and see what happens

this was just a preliminary test , so i know where max is, i will have the full spread sheet once i get R17 pressure tested with 55,56,57,58 grain charges behind the 180 nosler, at present im waiting for pressure data with a charge of 56 R17and the 200 gn noler

i wont be able to post any further spread sheets as i dont know how to do it my self, i have PM Collins numerous times, who posted the original spread sheets but have not got a repley from him

I loaded some R-17 in the 30-06 worked up to a max of 54.5gr with 180gr bullet @ 2762fps accuracy was good.

I'm using H-4350 with 180gr partition and I get alittle better velocity using that powder.

i dont know how long your tube is on your 06 if its a 22 inch tube just work up to a vel of about 2810 and you will be at a safe max, with a 24 inch tube work up to a vel of 2850 and you will be at a safe max
