It's sad to think that people like this 'represent' us (not me) in todays world. Oh, how they forget where we would be if we laid down and 'took it' 225 years ago...

Makes me upset/disheartened/ashamed every time I see it.

BMG,

I'm afraid times are a changing. The greater the population density in a given place, the more laws that will be introduced
to regulate the way we interact with others.
Some see this a protection others see it as an errosion of rights. The unpalatable fact for you folks is that the people who will disarm you, in fact the only ones who can, will be the American public itself. It is the extreamists on both sides of the debate which fuel the likes of Waxman.

BMG,

I follow the American gun law situation with keen interest.

We had a similar situation proposed for large calibers in our gun laws. This was not for 50 BMG but calibers that were large and "unnecessary". Fortunately we were able to prevent this from happening.

I suspect that your 50 BMG situation is caused by a lack of knowledge on one hand and also legislators will see it as not effecting many shooters.

As we both know, a 50 BMG, a 505 Gibbs or even a 375 is a poor choice for criminal or massacre activities.

Also, based on what I see on some of the forums, there are quite a few American hunters who are not in favor of the 50 BMG. This is lind of like the semi auto situation we had.

Henry Waxman is part of our wanna-be elite who think they know what is best for us and what is not. For people like him, the Constitutional oath of office is just so much lip service. He would fit in really well in the Peoples Republic of China.

BMG, I think that image would look great on a public billboard.
