I’m new to reloading. The first 3 times I reloaded the same brass no problem but the 4th time the bolt would not close on the cartridges. The cases all looked ok to me and the length was trimmed. I’m using 40gr h380 with 140gr bullets in a Gustav m94.Commercial rounds chamber with no problem and I’ve checked the headspace.what are the common causes for this problem?

Raise the ram, screw the sizing die in until it touches the shell holder. Add another 1/8 - 1/4 turn to the die so the press cams over center. This will give you a full length sized case. Check your case length, max for the 6.5x55 is 2.165", trim to is 2.155".

It helps to read the box. It’s a full length sizing die. Will turn case around a few times as suggested. Thanks for the help.

Turn the case around? I don't see anyone suggesting that, although it is sometimes done to promote concentricity, you ain't ready for that.
Where are you ; I will come over and show you;
Do what craig said first.

Just to be sure it isn't a bullet seating problem, check to see if a sized case (empty) will chamber in your rifle. If it does, and the loaded rounds do not, it may be that the loaded projectiles are running into the rifling, which would also likely show as scuff marks on the projectile.

This is not terribly likely, but easy to check.
