New Barnes TSX Poly-Tip 120grain bullet in 7mm08?
Just discovered this bullet in a new catalog.
It might be the answer to my prayers; a 7mm bullet @3000 fps from my 7/08 that is good for medium sized deer.. but will slay large East Texas hogs. Maybe..

Anyone had any dealings with this new(?) bullet????

Thanks!

At that velocity, it should do just fine.

Put the bullet in the right place, and it'll do the job. Even if you lose the petals, which you probably won't at the impact velocity you'll get, the shank will keep on going and going. Underpenetration is far more a problem with hogs than overpenetration.

I hunt with a friend that uses the 120 TSX in a 7mm08. Uses 45 grains of Varget for about 3100 fps from memory. Have seen him shoot several deer lately with it. Most were lucky to take a step.

are you sure you don't want somethng a little heavier for those hogs? i have never hunted them, but i have heard they (unlike deer) actually have some sort of armor plate.

i'm not criticizing, i'm asking because i honestly don't know.
