Hello, my "all over the world" -friends.
I'm sitting here in "cold" Norway, and having a rather difficult hobby (at least in Norway!).
I have a gloving love for rifles and cartridges, and for that reason I have collected some cartridges on a shelf in my reloading -room. I'm not collecting for any vallue. I'm simply collecting for my own joy, and to have something to look at, and come up with some new prosjects and ideas.
Its quite difficult to get hold of only one round of any cartridge. If you try to buy some in a gunshop, you'll have to buy at least 20 pcs.(A whole package). And another problem is that they dont have all of theme, either.
I'm maybe naive, but can you guys PLEASE help me extend my collection??

Arild,
attempt to contact me directly with a wish-list of specimens wanted. Bear in mind, postal regulations universally prohibit the mailing of live ammunition. If dummy ctgs. are okay and you have specific preferences, then help can be on the way....

I can throw in a 480 Ruger, 500 AHR and maybe a 505 Gibbs if you don't mind it being stamped 577 NE as that was what the brass was made from. Also could throw in a 41 Mag. Send me an address and I'll start putting these in a box to ship. Noticed you didn't have a 358 Winchester on the list, will ship one of them also.

As Paladin mentioned, shipping live ammo is prohibited. If you can live with dummy rounds, I can send a 6.5 Gibbs (.270 Win wildcat; my 1,000yard round)
7.62UKM (.338 Lapua Magnum wildcat. shortend and necked down)

12.7x108 (Russian heavy machinegun)

Robin, I just researched the postal regulations and mailing live ammo is verboten. Inert dummies are mailable, however.

And that remainds me: review of the Brownells catalog reveals a long list of factory-made, special DUMMY cartridges, which are sold to gunsmiths for safe function-testing of firearm feed mechanisms. I have some of these. They are darkened cases minus primers and flash holes, but with standard bullets. A collection of these would be a neat and uncommon thing to have, as well as an authentic representation of many different cartridges. Prices are reasonable, and they are mailable....

460wby,

You might also check out Huntingtons--they sell single cases, although from the responses here, you might be too busy opening your mail to do anything else!

Something which worked for me years ago when I was getting started in collecting was to ask at the gunshops if they had a cigar-box or bin containing the odds and ends of cartridges which people traded in with guns.

Gosh! The stuff I took out of those bins and boxes were about as varied as you can imagine. It pays to ask.....
