I have accumulated data for a bunch of combinations but not this one.
Alliant shows 120gr but not 115. Nosler doesn't show RL22.

Anyone care to share their secret recipe?

Which lot of RL-22 are you using? One of the faster ones or one of the slower ones?

RL-22 is a great powder, but it tends to vary significantly from lot to lot.

I would advise simply starting with the "starting load" for any conventional 115 or 120 grain bullet and working up from there. There is ample margin in the "starting load" to accommodate both the extra weight of the 120 and the unknown variation in a particular lot of powder.

In theory if I used load data for a 120gr bullet with RL 22 for a bullet thats 5gr lighter it should peak at a lower pressure. Right?
But by how much? If the recommended load for a 120gr bullet is 48gr max and the bullet I'm loading is 5gr lighter should I actually start at the starting load for a 120 or will that be to light and cause other pressure issues?

I have only used RL22 in bigger cases, (338,7mag, & recently .25-06) and noticed the .25-06 was more sensitive to changes in charge weight than the bigger cases. It does seem to be a good powder though. So given my limited experience with it, I am wondering how sensitive it would be in a case that's smaller yet.

i have shot 46 gr to 48gr. with 110 to 120gr. bullets,but the 48gr. load only in the long action 700 classic's,with a 722 stay with around 46 gr.

No comment about the RL22 in 6.5x55. Have used Ramshot's Magnum powder in my 6.5x55 on occassions. Magnum should have around same burn rate as the RL22. Recall email exchange with ballistician at Ramshot about using Magnum in a 6.5x55....basically he didn't think much of using Magnum powder in this cartridge, thought the Ramshot Hunter powder would be better for it. Hunter is a little faster than H4831.

Accuracy with my Magnum powder loads using 95gr, 120 and 140 bullets, while not bad, was nothing to brag about. P.O.I. with my magnum powder loads on a 100 yard target was several inches lower than what I'd have with faster burning powders.

Looking at loaddata.com I see 45 to 49 gr as the range to run with.

Me personally, I was able to get 43.9 gr of IMR 4831 to work with the 115 gr Nosler BT. OAL was 2.905" for 2864 fps.

I think you "could" possibly be better served with a slightly faster powder in the Bob. I use 4350 in the AI version and get a bit over 3000 fs with a 115 gn BT. Never tried RLr 22 though. Rlr 19 works good too.
