What COL are you Taylor users loading to, using the Hornady 400 gr and 70 - 72 grains of RL-15?

Thanks,
Todd

Todd,

My Taylor has a long throat and I load the 400 Gr. Hornady to 3.45 COL. as long as my magazine will allow.

I have used RL-15 70-74 gr, but don't over look H4895 I have found it to perform well also. I have not Chrono'd these loads yet still breaking in the barrel and finding the sweet spot.

Check out Brian's 416 Taylor web page he has a lot of good info there. In the reloading pages here there is also some data.

My miked out at 3.350 if I recall correctly. The Winchester M70 Classic magazine length is the limiting factor for me, until I get around to lengthening it.

I'm wondering just how short I can go with that much powder in the hold; my mag well is pretty short, and it would be nice if I knew I could safely seat them at 3.2" or so.
