2,000-2,200 fps would be normal. Pushing faster will not help accuracy . Gulf of Tonkin Yacht Club NRA Endowment Member President NM MILSURPS

I know, that 8 x 50 R Mannlicher is listet as using .323, most guns were later rechambered to 8 x 56 R Hungarian, which uses .330, IIRC. I am NOT sure, but it could be that the bore was all the time larger than .323. I would recommend to slug the bore ... or simply drop a bullet into the Muzzle. If you want to use larger Dia Bullets ( doesn´t LEE make a Mould of .330? ), take care, that there´s enough place for the brass neck to expand properly. These Calibers HAVE to be loaded down, else the Carbines kick like a Mule! Hermann formerly, before software update, known as "aHunter", lost 1000 posts in a minute

Do you have the earlier System, or the later 95 System, which is amply strong ... principally it´s a Mauser type converted to straight pull. But it´s predecessor, the KuK Ordonnanzgewehr M1888 und M1888/90 had a WEAK System! Take care, Hermann formerly, before software update, known as "aHunter", lost 1000 posts in a minute

Measure your case water volume capacity and compare it to an 8X57. Find the percentage difference and use that to adjust low pressure US data for the the 8X57 using 4895. Such data should be safe in your rifle. You will have to work the loads up a bit.

Still hoping someone out there has some known load data for this.

p. 277, "Cartridges Of The World" (7th Ed.) lists IMR 3031 only. 159 SP [48 grains] to 244 SP [45 grains]. That's it. _______________________
