I'm running 81.0 grains of RL-15 for my .416 Remington Magnum with Mike's 370-grain softpoints. Can someone give me a percentage of difference in your loads to get the same POI for cup points and softpoints? Thanks. Russ The doing of unpleasant deeds calls for people of an unpleasant nature.

I just used the same load for NF and Woodleigh and saw no diff in impact at 100 yards.

I hate to assume, so... do you mean of identical weights, and NF cup points versus Woodleigh softs? Thanks. Russ The doing of unpleasant deeds calls for people of an unpleasant nature.

Russell ----- I loaded 80 grains of Rl-15 behind my 370 grain North Fork flat points, and the same for the 370 grain softs. My POI was no more than an inch difference and most times 1/2 inch. They chronographed approx. 2460 fps. Good luck. "You can shoot anything you pick up, regardless of size, with practice. The key is consider what you are picking up". phurley

I checked all the manuals and figured any load for a 400 grain bullet would work with ease on the North Fork 370 grainer. I used IMR-4064 and RL-15 with the later winning out in the accuracy department. They performed perfectly on my Buffalo. I recovered the soft point with 99% weight retention after traveling from the last rib to the first rib, lodging in the neck bone, passing through everything the old boy had. The solid blew through from shoulder to lung, putting him down for good. "You can shoot anything you pick up, regardless of size, with practice". Roger on the load being the same, phurley, I'll see how it goes. Blaser93, I can't find it, but Mike (Brady, at NF) sent me an E-mail a long time ago about NOT using the data for 350-grain bullets (in .416 loads) like he said a lot of people do. Instead, use 400-grain load data. Russ The doing of unpleasant deeds calls for people of an unpleasant nature.

My experience, too, and I had a crackerjack load with IMR 4064... but RL-15 was just a bit better. Russ The doing of unpleasant deeds calls for people of an unpleasant nature.

I finally settled on 78 grs. of RL-15 and it puts 400 gr. Woodleighs soft and solids,, 370 Northforks, cup points and flat nose solids and softs, Noslers softs, all in the same hole, but I sold that gun, so now I am starting all over, but that load has done that in lots of rifles that folks inquired about with me. It seems to me all the .416s I have had would do that, and they were all Lothar Walther barrels, maybe thats the reason, maybe just luck?
