Combined technology and fail safes in assorted calibers....especially the 150 nosler gold .308 at $4.99/50. I just placed another order for more of these...they are really nice and a tough bullet for 308, 06, or win mag. If you don't like the moly just tumble it off!
Also failsafes at $9.99/50---real nice. go here

Yes, it's a great deal. I placed a large order -- and I don't even shoot the .30 caliber, 150 grain CT Partition Gold. But I guess I'll have to work up a load now! I just couldn't pass up that price.

The price might have to do with that this line of bullets is probably being dropped....Some sort of replacement in the works... but since I don't use trendy spendy bullets... I don't follow it that close....

Nosler's never explaimed to me what role a .308 Gold is supposed to fill. On one hand, a 150g is for going fast, but its low ballistic coefficient slows it relatively quickly. OTOH, Gold is for limiting expansion.

It just always seemed to me that 180g (or maybe even 165g) had the edge for the magnum cartridges. Based on the price, I'll guess a lot of folks are as confused as I am.

I hope you'll post successful reports in the future to rub it in that I missed out on a good deal!

Kraky, thanks for the tip. I ordered a bunch of the 150 gr. CT golds! I used the 180's in my 300WM and they are very accurate, so I am hoping for the same in the 150's for my 308 and perhaps the 30.06

kraky ----- Thanks for the tip, I just ordered 6 boxs of .277 140 grain Combined Tech bullets. My WSM likes the 140 grainers and at $9.99 per box if they don't shoot super accurate, at least they become plinkers. wave Good shooting.

It's a free world and everyone can choose where they do business. I must be a whimp cause I just can't let a little grudge get in the way of saving MY MONEY.
I hope these $4.99 wonders shoot cause I'm gonna own about 500 of em. If I don't like them I can combine 'em with some older bullet stock and put them on e-bay. Partitions always "gussy up" the sale price a little.

Hmmmmm. From reading the complaints here, guess I am the only one in the world Midway liikes and treats well....though somehow I really doubt that.

Anyway, I get their catlogues regularly and every week they e-mail me a bulletin with all their specials, closeouts, etc. for that week. And every time I order, a few days later, I get a note thanking me for the order.

Are you sure we are talking about the same Midway?

BTW, for inexpensive, knockabout barrels, they are currently having some terrific deals on some of their Adams & Bennett line. I just bought an unchambered, unthreaded .338 blank there for $62. I notice they have a number of other barrels, threaded and chambered,in the same price range.

I have dealt with Midway on occasion but I always go back to Midsouth. In my opinion, it is much better and the staff are always very pleasant.

Me too, I'm all for saving money, I don't really care if I get their catalog, would rather I didn't, it's just way too easy to look it up online and place an order. The search function at Midway works great, finding something in their catalog can be an excercise in futility....them and Brownell's!!
