brush_buster444 Marlin
I’ve checked my old reloading books and couldn’t find any loads for 444 Marlin using 240 gr cast bullets. What powder have you had success with?
Thanks in advance.

ClaymanI'm shooting a 240gr Hardcast out of my Marlin using reduced loads of H4895. I wanted a "powder puff" load for just goofing around, and these shoot well enough. I know I can drive them to max velocity, but I stuck with the 60% rule of H4895. I'd say start with that.

Dans40XCThe 444 Marlin w/ 240-270gr jacketed or cast projectiles runs fine w/ IMR 4198,RL7,WW680,Accurate 680,2400 powders,depending on velocities desired.

dpcd5744; perfect for cast bullets. 20 grains will give about 1200 and 30 about 1600; depending on how much your bullets can take. 5744 is position insensitive and is made for such uses.
