Last week I shot a caribou bull at 183 meters using the new 140 gr. Accubonds from Nosler. I was pleased with the results, the exit hole being just slightly larger than the entrance with very little damage to the meat. The shot being broadside it took out the heart, a quick clean kill. I have been very happy with the accuracy of the Accubonds using Fed. primers and 78 gr. of N-165 in my Sako 75 stainless. Im planning a trip to SA in a few months and Im wondering if anyone has had experience with the Accubonds over there, especially for kudu and oryx. Im planning on using the 160 gr. Greetings from Iceland. Gauti

You didn't mention the cartridge but presumably it is a 7mm. I just developed loads for a 7mm STW using the 160 Accubonds. The owner was heading for a plains game Safari in May. His report was that he took 18 animals, including two Kudu. Except for a Gemsbok, all were instant drops. Of those, all but two bullets exited completely. In the two bullets he recovered, one from a Kudu he hit in the left shoulder and the bullet recover in the right ham, one bullet retained 47% weight and the other 55%. The owner, his companions and the PH were all impressed with the performance. The range was between 120 yards out to 350 yards.

Bob, I also have an stw and am currently working on some loads for the 160 accubonds. I have a 26inch tube with a 1--9.5 twist. Don't suppose you could help me out with a load for these.

Shot the 160 AB's out of my 7 rem mag in africa a couple years back. Was very pleased with the results on Blue and Black Wildebeest. Good penetration. Did recover one bullet from followup shot on the blue, expansion and weight retention was good--cannot remember the spec numbers at the moment though. I would not hesitate to use them on Kudu and Gems (just happened to use my 300mag with tripleshocks on those animals a couple days prior to switching to my 7mag, or I would have).

BobC of this forum took AccuBonds to Africa in his .375 H&H. He was very please with performance of the Nosler AccuBonds. The are very accurate out of my two 375s. Rusty We Band of Brothers! 160 grain Accubonds in the 7MM STW should put Kudu and other plains game of that size down. Personally, I'd be shooting 175 grainers but that's just me.....I like the heavier bullets and the STW has the nuts to push them. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I dont know about SA, but the 160's work great on elk and deer in the USA (7mm RM). Similar performance as those posted above. ------------------------------------ Originally posted by BART185 I've had another member on this board post an aireal photograph of my neighborhood, post my wifes name, dig up old ads on GunsAmerica, call me out on everything that I posted. You might want to "PM" him because I believe he has been out sliding around on the "snow" and may not be near a computer at the moment. He will eventually answer a PM when he gets home - if he hasn't hit a tree!
