hi guys in kinda new to all this reloading and ive had a small problem. i began loading my .243 using 58grain hornady bullets with varget poweder. when i found a good load,43.6 grains grouping .6 of an inch at 124 yards,i thought great.so i went home loaded up the exact same and then next day the groups were all over the page.what is the problem there??would it be the 58 grain v-max just isnt right for mt rifle? thanks guys

Rouser: I find that I get a much more consistent result from my .243 bullets that are in the .75 to .87 gr. range. This seems to be true for my .240 Weatherby as well as my Remmington 6 MM.

I use 45.5 Varget and the 58 gr and groups are good, IMR4895 is faster and better. Start out around 42.5 and work up.

hi guys thanks for your help just after getting back from the range.after quite a few frustrating hours i found that the 58grains just dont suit my rifle at all.couldnt get a good group. so i switch to the 65 grains just as Ehg suggested and straight away i was getting groups of half an inch at 124 yards and the best being 6 rounds in .4 of an inch.
