.300 Win Mag Varmint Loads?

I understand that the .300 Win Mag is not the first choice for a varmint gun. But, it is the only center fire rifle I own. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a load that would be suitable for varmints? And, has anyone tried the sabots that allow a .22 caliber bullet to be shot out of a .30 caliber rifle?

Thanks,
Ben

They ain't worth a damn! Especially for varmint shooting.

Do yourself a favor and buy a cheap .22 Magnum rimfire...

Ben,

I have had pretty good luck with Speer 130 grain HPs with a charge of IMR 4064. Can't remember the charge weight but it was middle of the range given in the Speer manual. It shoots very well in my stock Ruger.
