Hello everyone, I would like to try the 53gr TSX in my 220 swift and was wondering if anyone has tried them.
Also i could use some starting loads as i dont have a barnes manual yet.
BTW, my rifle is a Ruger M77MK11 that has been worked over by Hill Country Rifles.
It shoots into the .3s-.4s with H380 and 60gr. Hornady soft point. I have a few other powders besides H380 that i could try aswell. Thanks Karry

No info yet on the tsx, but these are for the swift using the 53 XFB (non coated). I might be skeptical about the velocity as they are slower than those listed with the xlc coating, but it's whats listed in the Barnes #3

Karry,
I just picked up a box of the 53gr TSX as well to try in my Swift. I don't have any loaded up yet but it is near the top of my list for reloading projects. I am going in with a little skepticism as I tried the 53gr XLCs in the past with worse than poor results. Despite the fact that my 1-14" twist barrel shoots 55gr NBTs better than anything else, I suspect that stabilization of the XLCs was an issue. I assume from your shooting of 60gr bullets that you have a faster twist. This may help your cause. I look forward to comparing notes once we get to shoot these. By the way, my favorite powder for the Swift is VV N540. I plan to work up my initial load with this powder.

I'm cant remember what my Twist is off hand, i'll check and get back with you. The only other bullets i've tried is the 55gr nosler solid base also with H380. Actually H380 is the only powder i've tried in this rifle, when i got to my current load i stopped. IIRC i'm only pushing the hornady at either 3,450 or 3,550fps but i'll have to look in my notes. I am hoping to try the TSX's this week or next depending on my work schedule. I'll post results as soon as possible. Karry
