With the shortages and political climit. I have been filling a few holes and thinking longer term. I have been seeing Vectan powder at reasonable prices and availability. Anyone had any experience with them? Clean or dirty? Are the temperature sensitive? Thanks --------------------------------- We unfortunately will vote our way into socialism. good as anything else out there. importation is ummm off and on. it seems to only make it here when nothing else is available and vanishes as soon as you get a few loads established with it.

I have used some Vectan tubal powder for loading the 303 British, seemed to work okay although the kernels were quite coarse in the powder I was using and did not meter so well. I can't recall what Tubal number the powder was. I have used a lot of Vectan AS shotgun powder for loading 12 gauge 32gms lead for trap, skeet and wildfowl. This is superb powder, extremely clean burning, only leaving just a slight discolouration in the barrel. My favourite load in the 12G was 22.0grs AS with 32gm lead giving me an average MV of 1310fps. I also use this same powder and powder charge in my 404 Jeffery with 400gr cast bullets for a light load which is also extremely clean burning and gives very good accuracy. Could never get the Tubal rifle powders consistently so never got to develop loads for much anything.

Graf and son are still showing vectan powders in stock. I think I'll take the plunge in a couple of pounds of tubal 7000 for 3006. I do not think we will see components. In any amount for some time. --------------------------------- We unfortunately will vote our way into socialism. The end result will be having to shoot our way out of it.
