Hi again all - not trying to be a pest or anything... but more sizing questions. Which of these two sizing methods should result in the most uniform/concentric full-length sized brass? (a) Redding S-Type Full-Length Die with bushings (b) Lee Collet Die followed by Redding Body Die I've heard proponents of both methods, what have your experiences been here?

keepin everything streight is always a problem, My experience with redding was an unplesant one so I came up with an alternative. they tried but the out come was worse than the orignal and they figured .003" of run out on there die was with in there specs. I use collet dies and make my own mandrels to gain the bullet tension i want.

Hey Gaillo I only tried one of the Type S Bushing die and it produced a consistant .007" runout. Others have had problems with them as well. I use the Lee Collet Neck Sizer and Redding Body Die in every caliber I reload for and I watch concentricity with a RCBS Casemaster and a Bersin Tool. ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

Like Woods, I never had any luck with the Redding Type-S die I tried. So I never bothered getting more. Others may have had more luck?? - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... "b". I use the Lee Collet die followed by the body for many rifles. It works extremily well. And "c". I use the Lee Collet die follwed by the Redding Type S FL bushing die with expander removed in a few rifles. It works just as well as the Collet/Body die combo only I can increase the the neck tension just a bit. I also have a few Type S dies that I use as body dies with all the guts removed.

Love the body die and the collet die. I like not having to lube the inside of the case neck. Love the flexibility of being able to just neck size OR do the body too. Also...I have used the body die on fully loaded ammo that was sized for one chamber and then had to have the shoulder pushed back to fit another gun. (Had a bunch of ammo for a BAR that I sold that had to have the shoulder pushed back another .002" for my tikka....worked perfect but not approved by redding lawyer dept!)
