The 200gr BT probably works a lot better on deer sized game at 338 Win Mag velocities than it does 250fps faster at 330 Dakota velocities. The one I hit probably ran the same distance yours did though - 2 feet, straight down.....DJ

I bet your elk load would be fine for deer too.

I have used speer 200 grain bullets on deer and found them to work just fine.

For a one bullet solution to your problem, load up some 225 gr Accubonds and use them for everything.

Plenty of expansion for deer and plenty of penetration for elk.

The high B.C. of the bullet also lends itself well to longer range shooting.

Accurayc has been top notch in every 338 I have tested in my shop ranging from the 338 Win Mag up to my huge 338 Kahn.
