tell me about the 30 ackley magnum based on a 300 hh case.

I'm not 100%, but I bet it would be like the 300 Weatherby without the radiused shoulder.


Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

Recent college grad, started a company called MK Machining where I'm developing a bullpup rifle chassis system.

300 Weatherby loads would be fine then as long as you work up slowly, I don't know about case capacity.

Anything else?

Actually, there were two versions, #1 and #2. Both were formed from 300H&H brass, #1 being shorter than #2. Rechambering 30-06 barrels required setting back 1-2 threads for the short version. The long version required no setback. According to Ackley both versions were short enough to work through standard actions without alteration except for opening the bolt face.
