Just got my Rock Chucker Supreme Master Reloading kit today.
I also have a Redding die set.
I have Norma brass and 120 gr TSX's for the components.
Any favorite loads to share?
What primers do you use and which powders.
I do not know where to start.
I'd appreciate any help.

Did a reloading manual come with your kit? The various reloading equipment manufacturers go through great expense (passed on to us) to do load research. Often the "best accuracy potential" load listed in the manual turns out to be just that.

go out and buy at least 3 loading manuals, then compare loads I think you'll learn much from them

My daughter's Dakota M97 Youth with a 22" barrel shoots sub .5 MOA (sometimes sub .25 MOA) with 43g/IMR4831 and 130 TSX. And a similar sized pattern with 100 grain Partitions and 43.5 gr. IMR4350. But seating depth is very important.

Try H4350 or RL19 & Fed210M primers. I don't loads the TSX but in my 260ai, 4350 & RL19 have proven the most accurate under 120-123gr bullets.

My favorite two powders are IMr 4350 for the Heavier bullets....above 120 grains...

and IMR 4064, for the 120s and smaller...

actually, the 120s get put in front of both IMR 4350 and IMR 4064.. depending on my mood....

but I admit the 260 is like the 223.. it is harder to find a powder it won't work well with.. than it is to find one it won't work well with...

I just reloaded today with my new press.
I used H4350 with my 120 TSX's.
I put in 44 grains and it was up to the shoulder.
When I filled it with 45 grains, the bullet was compressing into the powder. Is this okay or normal?
What should I do next?
Should I head to the range and find out the results?
Thanks for all your help.

Yeah, 4350 can take quite a bit of compression. Once your cases are 1X the powder won't come up quite so high. According to Lyman 48th, you're near the top end of your loading for 120's and 4350.

maybe you need to try something like 414 or 760 on your slow side. i like to use medium burn rates for the .260 120s like 4064, h-380, RL-15, 4320 they will put you about 90% density

Lyman shows loadings using IMR4350 which is slightly faster than H4350 so the top end should be okay for H4350. This assumes your rifle is a modern one and is up to it. What I'm saying is you use this info at your peril. But anyway, the Lyman book, for a ballistic tip starts at 41.0 and tops at 45.7 with IMR 4350.
IMO, the .260 doesn't kill with speed but with that long, high bc bullet so the extra few fps ain't gonna make much difference. That .7grs of powder might make a nice cushion. Big Grin
I shoot 140gr Rem Core Lokts over H414 in my .260 and they kill WT deer like the Hammer of Thor. I shot one at 250yds and he never moved out of his shadow.

I think I will start with 42 grains of H4350 then.
I will play it safe and work up from there.
Thanks-
