I heard a rumor that Rem was considering a .270 on that case. How would a .25 on the ultra case compare with the 257 STW? Thanks!

Given that the Ultra Mag case is somewhat larger than the STW case I would say that the a 25 Ultra would be even dumber than a 257STW and that's going some! Regards, Bill.

FFg,

The Lazzeroni 6.53 Scramjet is based on the full length 404, so I would assume it to be a 25 Ultra, if there was one.

You can have a look at some data on the Reloading section for this one, might give you an idea of what it can do.

FFg,
You can also check Ackley's handbooks and look up the .257 Condor and the .258 Condor.
The .257 was built on the 7x61 S&H case necked down and the .258 was built on the .300 WBY case necked down. I have one each of these barrels and one more made on the .378 WBY shortened and necked down. All of the brass is a pain to make and not much if anything has ever been gained. But boy can you use up powder fast.
