in the last two weeks I decided to take the plunge and get the dispenser/scale combo. Set it up, calibrate it and then go to dispense some Titegroup powder and unit feed tube starts to behave strangely. Seemed to hesitiate while dispensing on low speed.
Bottom line is that it finally stopped dispensing. Called RCBS and they said that there have been challenges with Ball powders as the particles find their way into the mechanism on some units. The motor has limited torque and lockup-ups occur.
They had me send the unit back and I am waiting for the replacement. Nice customer service, but I hope the replacement unit shows no similar challenges.

Just wanted you all to know what I was seeing....

I use lots of W-760 and WMR, both ball powders in my Chargemaster. I haven't had any problems with mine. Knock on wood.

Why not use the old powder measure. it dumps accurately with ball powder. I only use my electronic despenser for the long stick powders

I have used my ChargeMaster for over a year, including dispensing MagPro and W748. I have never had a problem. Maybe I'm just lucky. The unit certainly works well on stick powder, however.

I talked again to RCBS and they say that they have been less than satisfied with the fit between plastic and metal on the units and are getting it rectified. I believe the manufacturing is done off shore.

There was no problem whatsoever with elongated powders....

I just got one of these tools, I hope its a good one.
I have only used it with one powder(H4350) so far.

I noticed some times as the dispenser is trickling the last few granules of this stick powder a clump of sticks will drop and my charge goes over weight. I either dump the charge back into the hopper and try again or I take out a few granules on the point on a fine file (the teeth on the file catch and hold the powder).

If the fit between the dispenser tube and the plastic hopper housing is loose maybe a O ring adedd to the tube and pressed tight to the gap would prevent ball powder from getting in there.
