Own a Ruger 375 and a huge supply of Nosler 300 gr Partitions and Hornady 270 gr spire points.

Would like to find a good reduced load for deer hunting. 1,800-2,000 fps would be perfect.
Looking for suggestions that others have actually used.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Why reduce load? I shot a mule deer doe at 150yds. on a damage control hunt with my 375 Ruger Guide Gun with the factory Hornady 270gr. ammo. Hit her high in the shoulder. 375 caliber entrance and 1" exit wounds. Just trimmed around exit hole. No blood shot shoulders like my 270wsm would of done. I chronographed factory Hornady 270gr. out of my 20" barrel averaged at 2777fps. It is like a heavy sledge hammer hit her. Broke her spine in front of her shoulders and the energy made her right lung turned to jello. Very happy with the 375 Ruger.

I shot a central Texas whitetail with my Ruger 375 using 260 gr Nosler Part. and full house loads. I have ruined more meat with a 270. Why Reduce?

Because I don't want the recoil.

So basically you want to turn your 375 Ruger into a 375 Winchester ballistics. Serval ways to to reduce recoil. Better recoil pad, mercury recoil reducer, add more weight to rifle or a muzzle break. My 375 Ruger Guide Gun with muzzle break feels like a push not a sharp jab with full house loads.

Contact Hodgdons.
They should be able to recommend a H4895 Reduced load for your .375. Any H4895 load they list can be reduced to 60% of max but if they don't list a load then it says call them. I saw no load listed for .375 Ruger so give them a call they are very helpful.
Not sure why the other posters can't "get" what you are up to.

Thanks, I may do that. Been thinking RL 7 would be a good choice as well.

Snowwolfe, when you get an answer please let us know.

If you have access to Trail Boss I believe on the Hodgdons web site they have the formula to allow one to work-up a load for any cartrage you desire.

Been looking for trail boss for over a year. Wished I had not sold the 5 pounds I had before leaving Alaska.
Lyman cast bullet manual shows 38 grains of RL7 behind a 264 grain cast bullet for 1,878 fps. Think I will bump it up to 40 grains and try that with both the 270's and 300's.
