Absolutly, positively not!!! I heard the same thing so what did I do? I went and bought some and checked it out. Tightgroup has a similar texture but is a lot shinier then WST. The velocities are very different with the same loads, also. I don't remember the difference offhand but it was significant- something like 75fps for 4.2 gr. WST was faster. It may just be me but the report is significantly different with TG. The TG also shot much better, much cleaner, and gave multiple standard deviations of 10-12 using a 200gr LSW in a .45 with a velocity around 780 fps. I have since quit using my old load of 4.2 gr of WST and now load 4.2 gr of TG. Hope this helps.

I guess I should have fully read everything before posting. Not sure if TG is the same is WSL. WSL isn't sold anymore but I have a good bit of it as I load it in .38. I haven't compared apples to oranges. I did hear WST was the same as TG and it ain't. Guess I will have to check it out. My apologies for the confusions and jumping the gun. Beau

This has been running on the reloading forum at www1911.com and a Hodgdon rep jumped on and firmly denied the relationship. Titegroup is made in Fl for Hodgdon exculusively and is not, nor never has been produced or sold by Winchester as WSL.
