Is Graf brass any good? I got a package of 100 in 270W... What's your opinion? Good to go or go back and exchange it for WW which is my preferred brass anyways? Thanks, Roland

I have not used Graf's brass in .270, but I have used 6PPC and 9.3x62 with that headstamp. I don't know if Graf get all their brass from one source, but I have no complaints about the brass I have used. On the other hand, if you are already loading with, and own WW brass, you have to consider whether a new type of brass is an advantage or a disadvantage to you. It can be an easy way to keep loads apart, or keep brass separate for multiple guns. If you only have one load for one gun, I would personally stay with the brass you are currently using (assuming you are happy with the quality). - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... I have not used their 270 brass, but am still loading their 6.5 Carcano, 7.65 Arg, 7.5 Swiss and 7.62x54R, the 7.65 Arg is on it's tenth or so loading, still going strong, not bad for the money 27.00/100 IIRC.

Me...not so good. I bought some 308 graffs. It was extremely heavy compared to win and rem brass and was lacking capacity. I had to drop charges 1.5 grains to match the speed of regular brass. Plus without full length sizing some of the brass had too long of headspace and wouldnt chamber well. Now that I understand it better I will use it. For me it wasn't worth the few bucks saved over win or rem brass.

For me it has always worked great. Since I always work my loads back up when changing a major component like brass or bullet, any difference in capacity is irrelevant for my use. It is my understanding that some of their brass is made by Prvi Partisan, and others are made by Jamison. I wouldn't doubt if there are still other makers contracted with as well. I had bought some of their 7x57. The dimensions in the rim/extractor groove wouldn't allow them to slip into my shell holder and extractor. They took them back and I went with R&P. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Yep, I heard some of this could happen based on the bolt-face when I was considering re-barreling one of my 30-06 rifles too!

I don't know where Graf get their brass from, but that phenomenon is not uncommon with European brass. I have never had a problem with the extractors, but shell holders not fitting European manufactured brass is a fairly common occurrence. I can normally work around the problem by using a different shell holder - often one sized for 6.5x55 brass (slightly larger rim). That said, otherwise much of the brass giving me this problem is first class. RWS is probably the one brand where I have encountered this most frequently, and that sure is good brass. If I'm not mistaken, I've had this with Lapua brass as well. - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... Some of it may be. Their .303 Savage, however was made by Jamison (or at least the first run was) and their 8x56R was at least partially made by Prvi Partisan. I have some of both. Their others I have, like 7.5x55, could be by anyone. Appears to be a different brass specification than commercially boxed S&B I have tried, but who knows for sure who made it? Certainly not I. I have had good results with Graf 9.3X62 brass. Good accuracy and case life.
