Doc-

Yes it is tragic that life always ends in death, especially when an unforseen death.

As to "gunpowder"(black powder) being an explosive or not, I'm sure with your background you must realize there is a difference between something which itself explodes, and some other entity which can generate enough gases when burnt to cause something else to explode.

So, there is probably no need to beat that poor dead horse yet again.

you are the only lowlife on this entire forum that would take a loss of life as a chickinsh!t stab at my BACK. You,sir, are a low down piece of pond scum that needs to understand that someone DYING is not worthy of joking.

This is one of the lowest, spineless, unethical actions i have ever seen a member make.

Hope you are proud of your actions, doc. You certainly have earned the respect you receive.

Did I take a stab at anyone ?. Black Powder or Smokeless it's explosive when contained or more

importantly when enough particles become airborne can cause horrendous results !.

Yes AC I'm painfully aware of it . Most volatiles are explosive whether low grade or high grade

upon containment . Which was my original argument !. Under correct conditions Flour Sugar or dust can

explode !.

jeffeosso ; As I didn't see your name mentioned or anyone Else's perhaps you have a guilt complex !.

Gunpowder is classified as a low explosive because of its relatively slow decomposition rate and consequently low brisance. Low explosives deflagrate at subsonic speeds. High explosives detonate, producing a supersonic wave. Ignition of the powder packed behind a bullet must generate enough pressure to force it from the muzzle at high speed, but not enough to rupture the gun barrel. Gunpowder is thus less suitable for shattering rock or fortifications, where high explosives such as TNT are preferred.

Gunpowder contains 3 megajoules per kilogram, and contains its own oxidant. For comparison, the energy density of TNT is 4.6 megajoules per kilogram, and the energy density of gasoline is 47.2 megajoules per kilogram

Nitrocellulose, an energetic component of most smokeless propellants
Nitroglycerin, an energetic component of double-base and triple-base formulations

The energy density of gasoline has to include
the air added. The mixture ratio is around 16/1
making the true value around 3 megajoules/kg.
God luck!

Of course the ethicless, spineless wonder attampts to baffle us, rather than acknowledge his grotesque breach of common morals.

Hotsore, a difference between you and me is that I have principals, and i am unwilling to have common morals breached. I DO take offense to those actions, and if it doesn't bother you, then perhaps you should go have a long look in the mirror.

Hollywood,
Really? no spine to stand up to your own actions when called on it, then, do you? You attempt to link a fire and explosion to your personal agenda. You are truly without morals and ethics.

I am the only moderator that you have threatened with SHOOTING, repeatedly, and with other physical violence. I am the only moderator that has schooled you on how the ATF (not dot) classifies SMOKELESS POWDER. And, Hollywood, I am the guy that doesn't buy your overloaded fertilizer truck of "personal" knowledge.

Where's that pecky patent number that you "personally" defended YOUR rights to?

Don't try and baffle with BS, son. You have innoculated us all to your particular overload.

I take back the son comment, as my eldest turns 29 next week, and he would NEVER, in a drunken hase, threaten to shoot someone or use a loss of life as a cowardly backstab at anyone ...

Totally out of context even for you . Leads me to believe you're an insecure dummycrat !!!.

Rant on so as for others to know how trivial you truly are !. Talk about furthering ones own agenda !.

Hollywood,
utterly spineless. I have zero respect for liars, fools, and irreasonable persons. You refuse to take accountability for your own actions and statements. Then you compound that by cowardly making defaming comments in a thread without the object of your ire participating.

You are beneath contempt.

Out of context? Are you going senile, doc?

This is unmistakably a threat, sir. Perhaps You don't consider "jokes" of death, and using the hideous death of others to further your own agenda to be repugnant.. the rest of society believe these things to NOT be joking matters.

Where's that patent number, hollywood? Are you now going to rant on about your quetionable experiences?

You SHOULD STFU, at least stop digging. You threatened me, repeatedly, with shooting me in the head to prove your LIE of how a shotgun affected a "bad guy" in your experience.

Doc, those days are long gone, and you don't remember them well.

Perhaps you need to see a shrink about talk about your violent and sociopathic tendencies.

WOW and I thought SDH was a toad for becoming inebriated and calling people names and acting like an azz! This guy threatens to Kill You not to mention his attempt to make “political hay” out of this horrid event. You use the term “Pond Scum” how about Lowest of All Swine Bred?

I will have to do more research on this matter. Wink

This was all over WBZ radio in Boston the other day.

The radio announcer didn't mention that the factory manufactured black powder, and I wasn't aware that it did.

But this article seems to say so - and that would make sense given the nature of the accident.

Just an awful thing.
