As promised did a similar test with a .223 CZ varmint rifle, 18 power BSA scope, set trigger about 1 1/2 # pull. Wolf sr primers Black hills match brass,Same bullet; 52grain FB-HP Berger. The powders were the same as the original test proportioned to case capacities. The performances , although acceptable, were not nearly as good as the .22PPC. Looking at the rifles, the cases, and the triggers I expected the .223 to even out perform the .22PPC. It did not. The targets for the .22PPC were 3/8" high Vs. The targets for the .223 were 3/8" high Xs. The shorter legs from the point of aim on the Xs really made a difference. Compounding the different targets was that the clarity of the BSA scope which was some what blurry. Both these conditions greatly added to shooter error and more than off set any gain attributed by the rifle, trigger and cases. From other previously good results I can not attribute any error from using Wolf primers. One really unusual result was 27.8 grains of acc 2520 powder consistently produced velocities over 3600 fps. with no high pressure evidence . The first three shots yielded a .200" group at 50 yd. 10 shots opened up to about .800 ". roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward.
