So I was going through some old boxes and found a dozen 20mm shells that I bought about 10 years ago from Cheeper Than Dirt. They have the metal chain brackets. Do you think they are worth anything? I was thinking about taking them to a local metal recycler and see how much I could get.

obama wants you to shred it. he just recently outlawed the sale of milsurp brass, so i think legally you can only give it away now, shred it or take it to a recycler.

otherwise, i think it would be nice as a conversation piece

Describe the cases. Are they brass or steel? Headstamp??

You can sell them. Obama hasn't yet otlawed the selling of milsurp brass. Everybody is running scared over a bunch of rumors.

They are brass. They say the following on the side:

20MM M103
ACN
89E006-978

There is nothing stamped on them. They are all in good shape, I just started cleaning them up a little bit.

Go to www.subguns.com

Get on the forums as somebody on there could probably use them and you might get top dollar.

I think that any changes in regulations only affect Department of Defense and contractors who deal in brass. And it's not even clear if the regulations have been changed since it requires some sort of notice, comment period, etc.

Finally, it may be a simple matter of re-classifying the brass from "surplus" to "scrap".

Everybody needs to relax for a moment and let the facts be sorted out from the fiction.

This is on ALL of the "shooting" forums and each one has a different take on it.

We'll see how it plays out. Maybe it really is bad news - and maybe not.

How long? 102 or 110mm? If 102mm, they're current issue 20mm "Vulcan" cases. If 110mm, is the rim the same size as the base (Hispano-Suzza) or is the rim smaller than the base (Orelikon)

Dmiller

What you have are regular ol garden vaiety 20mm brass which is used in a myriad of applications but mostly Vulcan type cannons. I've bought and sold a pile of it over the years. It's not worth scrapping. Better to sell it to someone who reloads 20mm (not too many guys) or you can sell them to cartridge collectors. The going rate is about $100 per hundred in once fired shape or a little more if sold individually. If you wanna sell em let me know what you want for em.
