It's an Accurate Arms powder that is supposed to be position-insensitive, so it is used to reproduce blackpowder-level loads in capacious cases like the .45-70.
It also happens to have a burning rate close to that of the slower handgun powders, so it has uses in the same places you'd employ, say, 2400, 4227, etc.
When I had my .45-70 Sharps it was THE powder for accurate smokeless loads too. No fooling around with wads, filler, etc. Just drop it in a case and shoot. Can be hard to find though, at least here in MT anyway. FN

Glenn: This is indeed good stuff. I use it in .38-55, .45-70 and .577 Snider, and plan to use in in .5477-450 as well. I also used it when I had a Ruger Tropical in .416 Rigby. With 52 grains in Norma brass under the RCBS gas-checked .416 bullet, it gave just under 2,000 fps, mild recoil and accuracy of just over an inch at 100 yards. Great powder! I believe Accurate gets it from Czechoslovakia.
