I am using CCI 250 magnum primers for my 300rum and dont really know what the 250 stands for, I see load data on here that uses cci 215 magnum primers. Whats the difference??? What should I look for in a primer for best accuracy?? Im shooting retumbo powder and 180 gr. barnes tsx bullets. Thanks in advance.........

I don't know the reason why they would use the numbers that start with a 2, but in general, the 2 series for CCI is their large rifle primer series, the 250 demotes that it is their magnum variety rather than the 200 which is their standard primer. Same for folks like Federal where the standard is 210 and the magnum is 215. Just another designation. It is the "halves" that make me say hmmm. Like the remingtons...9 1/2, what's up with that? Probably just a designation that was hashed-out 50 years ago and it's never been seen as necessary by Big Green to change it. It would be in millions of reloading books by now. Changing it and getting the word out about the change would be quite cost-prohibitive...
