i was talking to a avid hunter and he said he uses sierra game king hollow points. i said you mean match king? he said no, they make a game king HP where the core is much harder. i searched the sierra web site and could not find such a bullet. has anyone heard of GKHP bullets?

seez, i they must have just updated their web page! i see em now!!

BTW, has anyone tried these on elk?

They sure do...maybe you better search again...

They come in .224-55, .243-85, .257-90., .257-120, .277-140, .284-160, .308-165 and probably several others that I can't think of now...

And it isn't something new either...they have been around for years...

Speaking just for the Sierra 165 grain HPBT Game King bullet. I've found the bullet works fine in a '06 for elk. In cases that furnish higher velocities than an '06 this, IMHO, would be a better selection than the SBTs. The jacket on the HPBT is heavier and will hold together better than the SBT. An added benefit to this design, the point don't get battered in the magazine. Good luck. [Smile]
