I bought some Varget to try with lighter bullets in 243. The results seem very weird - weird enough that I wonder if it's correctly packaged powder let alone a different lot

40gr of Varget under a 70gr bullet in a 19" 243 - 2,900fps some 600fps under book data. Even allowing 300fps for the shorter barrel plus 100fps artistic licence it's still way under velocity. The same lack of velocity has been apparent in 80 and 85gr bullets. There are also zero signs of pressure despite going up to 1 gr over max.

If I didn't know better I would say it was H4350....
